Our Mission

Our mission at Littlefoot Montessori is to provide children with a safe, nurturing, and prepared environment that will cultivate curious, independent, and resilient life-long learners.

Our vision at Littlefoot Montessori is to create the feeling of a "home away from home" for children and their families.

Our Vision

Our Philosophy

Our Montessori approach pairs traditional Montessori philosophy, practice, and materials with a safe and nurturing environment that we hope your child will consider their "home away from home". At Littlefoot Montessori, we teach the way your child learns: personalized learning at their own pace through hands-on experiences, guided practice, peer-mentoring, and collaboration. As the saying goes, "It takes a village", so we aim to provide families with a foundational knowledge of Montessori so they may reflect the same values and practices in their homes, which we have found plays an integral role in the child's success.

Home away from home

While many schools primary focus is on academics, our philosophy "home away from home", reflects our value and understanding the child must feel the same comfort, safety, and trust that they would feel at home before learning can take place.  At Littlefoot Montessori, we put an emphasis on developing the child's social-emotional skills which lays a fundamental foundation for learning. Our goal is to establish a strong bond of trust, respect, and care with your child and between your child and their peers. We believe this is vital for the child to truly integrate the knowledge they will be learning everyday.

Follow the Child

Following the child's lead is a key Montessori principal, but we take it one step further. Through careful study and observation, we teach the way your child learns best. At Littlefoot Montessori, we provide your child with a personalized learning experience because just like every person is different, so is every child and how they learn. Sometimes this may mean a child needs extra support, and other times standing back may be more suited to facilitate their independence. Either way we will meet your child where they are each and every day because we understand even day to day that their needs can change.

It takes a village

We are far from the days where an entire village raised its children, but that doesn't mean we can't apply the same principals. At Littlefoot Montessori, we believe the family's involvement and understanding of the Montessori philosophy is critical to a child's success. Children thrive under environments that are consistent and predictable, so we aim to provide families with a foundation of Montessori knowledge that they can then reflect in their homes. We understand this may look different for every family, and we don't expect families to adopt every Montessori principal, but we like to provide families with this knowledge in the hopes that they may apply some of it in their homes.
